The concept of the project was shaped by the client’s brief. The task was to build two houses on adjacent plots that would function as a single architectural composition in terms of planning and structure, while maintaining distinct visual identities. This led to the creation of the “twins” — Twin One and Twin Two — similar, yet not identical buildings. The façade of Twin One is composed of Moca Cream limestone in a warm sandy tone, Absolute Black granite in a deep charcoal-black shade, and natural wood. The use of natural timber was also a specific request from the client. We have not used it in our projects for several years, preferring composite wood, which offers similar qualities while requiring virtually no maintenance. I agreed to accommodate the client’s preference, intrigued by the opportunity to observe how the architectural character of the house would evolve naturally over time, gradually acquiring a unique identity of its own.
